Katie had her last soccer game on Friday. It was a make-up for Saturday. She was really hoping that she'd win her last game because they haven't won a game all season. Well, it ended up a "tie" - or at least that is the story Katie's sticking to!!! Her proud mother is happy to report that she scored THREE goals and took a hit as the goalie right to the head which would have knocked out most kids. Katie just laughed. She's a tough cookie! She's already asked if she can play soccer again soon. On to t-ball.......

Daisy May Kaufman

Oh, I love this time of year when my daisies start to bloom. Reminds me of my Grandma Morgan, Aunt Sal, Aunt Connie and my Mom. I remember Grandma's whole garden full of daisies in her back yard which have traveled to Aunt Connie's, Aunt Sally's, Mom's and now my garden. I wish they would bloom all summer!!

Katie loves the daisies too. I always know that they've bloomed because she brings me some that she just had to pick.

Memorial Day

Katie and I had a really rough night last night. Just as we were both falling asleep, the tornado sirens went off and we ended up camping in the basement for the night. It was really scary for both of us and we were glad that we had a nice soft bed in the basement to crash on....
This a.m. Katie played at the computer, but only after she had us recite the pledge of allegiance in honor of Memorial Day!
Then, Tom came by and put up the new exterior lights that Katie and I had picked out earlier this week. Our other lights were in such bad shape that we couldn't even use them anymore (and no, I didn't just need to change the bulb!)

Getting Started.....

Here's Katie after playing outside on this muggy and humid Sunday afternoon. She helped me decorate the yard for Memorial day and was very proud of her flags. She then went out to the back yard and helped "water" the flowers. She could play outside all day if the weather would let her.
