Pumpkin Patch

We're back to fall weather and it's been really nice. My trees are starting to turn their brilliant colors, and my garage needs cleaned!!
We spent a fun weekend at Aunt Kerry and Uncle Glenn's last weekend. We went and enjoyed their Pumpkin Patch.

Rub a dub dub, three kids in the tub!

First snow of the year! We got pretty lucky compared to the pictures that I have seen from NW Iowa. We were excited nonetheless to have our first flakes!
It was a crazy week here. We had a clog in our kitchen sink and drano just wasn't cutting it... Tom came over to fix it and after about 2 hours of snaking the sink, the pipe broke. At that point we decided that it was time to call a plumber. So, after 3 additional hours of work by the professional, we were up and running again!
School is continuing to go well for Katie. She is really making her mother proud this year! She's such a big kid now - homework every night, lots of reading and spelling words. She works very hard!
This weekend we were happy to have Grandma and Grandpa, Aunt Kerry and Uncle Glenn, Uncle Matt and Frankie, Andy and Carl. Aunt Jenny and Marilyn stayed in Minnesota because Marilyn had a birthday party. Uncle Kent was also not with us, we think that he really likes to stay in his home and watch college football without the help of his five nieces and nephews! Uncle Glenn, who had foot surgery, let the kids go crazy signing his cast. They really went to town and wrote more than just their names. We had another wonderful weekend! Enjoy the pictures from all of our fun!!!

Andy drinking from Katie's Chuck E. Cheese cup. When he saw this picture he immediately said, "I look funny!" Yes, he does!

Carl was the center of attention once again so he laid down on Uncle Glenn's pillow, but he sure didn't go to sleep!

Hanging out on a lazy Sunday morning!

We all look like a Toshiba add when we are together....

Carl likes to put on the happy face stickers. When he gets them on he says, "I am happy"... Kerry thinks that he confuses the word happy and pretty. Either way, someday he is going to love me for capturing these moments!

Some of my favorite football players.... Tyler Sash (9), Derrel Johnson-Koulianas (15) and Tony Moewki (81)

Marvin McNutt (7)

Frankie met up with Michigan's version of Darth Vadar and the Storm Trooper prior to the game!

Frankie watching Pre-game

Frankie's new hat! When you go with Aunt Kel you get spoiled - especially when you become as football crazy as she is!!

Another view of this cutie patootie Hawkeye and his new hat!

Frankie made some new buddies before the game! He asked them why they were rooting for Michigan and the conversation went from there. Fortunately, their predictions that Wolverines eat Hawkeyes for supper did not come true! And I'm not sure where they went after the game - they were going to come and find us :-)

Frankie and Daddy before the game.

Frankie and Grandpa - ready for some football!

Frankie and Aunt Kel - not sure what he's pointing at but I'm guessing that it's Grandpa!

Two of the biggest Hawk fans you'll ever meet!!

Let's go Hawks!!! Bundled up for the game! The starting temp at kickoff was 38 degrees..... it just got cooler from there, BUT there was NO wind and NO snow (which we got earlier in the day)

Katie at the game 10/3/2009

Another Hawkeye weekend for the Kaufman girls. We had "girls weekend" this weekend - with Matt, Dad and Glenn all not coming to the game. Us girls braved the cold weather and possible rain to sit out and watch the Hawks squeak by Arkansas State. I wasn't sure if Katie would make it the whole game given the cold temperatures, but she was really a trooper and she did just fine. I'm really hoping that she'll get Hawkeye fever like Mom and I and want to join us all the time!!

Katie's class did their first prayer service this past Thursday. The kids have a prayer service every Thursday and Katie's class was up for October 1. Katie tried her very best to get selected as a cantor, but she wasn't picked this time. I was amazed that she even wanted to get up in front of everyone and sing, (this is the child who I thought Tom and I were going to have to go and "save" at her first Christmas concert because she had terrible stage fright.) She instead got to hold the cross during the prayer. Let me just tell you that she was the best cross bearer I have ever seen. Mommy was very proud of her and she took her job very seriously.

Fall arrived this week and the temperatures really reflected it here in Cedar Rapids. If things keep up we are probably in for another long cold winter. We've had such a cool summer and so far fall. Keep your fingers crossed that it is not rainy next weekend when the Michigan Wolverines are in Iowa City!
